Apple Logic Pro X 10.4.5 with performance improvements for new Mac Pro and more released

As announced at the WWDC 2019 developers conference, Apple has updated the Logic Pro X with performance optimisations for the upcoming newly introduced Mac Pro. The refreshed version includes support for up to 56 processing threads and an increase to 1,000 audio tracks and 1,000 software instruments for all users along with support for 1,000 auxiliary channel strips, 1,000 external MIDI tracks, and 12 sends per channel strips.

Furthermore, Apple said that it had improved the responsiveness of the Mixer and Event list when working with large sessions as well as projects with numerous Flex Time edits and tempo changes now claimed to perform more efficiently. As for the new additions, the Loop browser can filter by loop type and also lets drag and drop of multiple loops onto projects. Apple says that it has redesigned DeEsser 2 plug-in that offers more options to reduce sibilance on audio tracks. It can now send MIDI beat clock to individual ports, each with different settings like timing offset and plug-in delay compensation. The updated Logic Pro X is already available on the Apple Mac App Store as a free update.

As for the Mac Pro, Apple has completely redesigned the machine and is claimed to the Cupertino giant’s most powerful PC till date. It is powered by the Intel Xeon 28 core processor, packs in a heatsink for cooling and an ‘Afterburner’ for video editing with 8K resolution. The Mac Pro comes with up to 1.5TB of system memory and 8 internal PCI slots. Connectivity options include 3.5mm headphone jack, 2x Thunderbolt 3 ports and 2x USB-A ports.
