Redmi Note 8 with 18W fast charging spotted at 3Cs; leaked render reveals design

“The Redmi Note 8 could be the 64-megapixel camera phone, which is said to launch in Q4 2019”

The Redmi Note 8 smartphone, the successor to the Redmi Note 7 series, was officially confirmed by the brand’s General Manager Lu Weibing earlier this month. Now, the handset’s render and 3Cs certification have surfaced on the internet, hinting that its launch is just around the corner. The Redmi Note 8 is believed to come in two variants: the regular Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The Pro model is expected to be the 64-megapixel quad-camera phone that the vendor will launch later this year. The phone could be among the first to come with Samsung’s latest ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor with 64-megapixel resolution.

Redmi Note 8 alleged listing
The listing reveals Xiaomi’s upcoming phone with 18W fast charging.

As per the listing, Xiaomi phones with M1906G7E and M1906G7T model numbers have been certified. The identity of the handsets remain unknown at the moment, but what we can tell they could be the variants of the same smartphone and ship with MDY-10-EC charger that supports up to 18W rapid charging. It’s believed that the phones could be the Redmi Note 8 series, but we would advise you to take this information with a grain of salt. Meanwhile, another Xiaomi phone’s variants M1908C3IE and M1908C3IC have also been certified. These seem to be the affordable offerings from the brand as they are equipped with MDY-09-EK charger that supports only 5V/2V (10W) charging.

In related news, render of Redmi Note 8 has allegedly been leaked. The image shows that the handset will have a centre-aligned triple camera module at the back, with the fourth sensor and dual-LED flash placed on the side. There is no fingerprint scanner on the rear panel, which could mean that the Note 8 could come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The power button seems to be on the right edge, while the volume rocker could be on the left spine. Unfortunately, we don’t have the image of handset’s fascia at the moment, but speculations are rife that it could sport the same dot-notch display as its predecessor Redmi Note 7. Lastly, the Redmi Note 8 is likely to be the first smartphone to be powered by MediaTek’s latest Helio G91 octa-core chipset.
